How to get to the Center and general comments about transport
Wind of a plane
As most attendees will fly to Madrid the bus to the Center will leave from T4 in Madrid's airport. Everyone must ensure they are ready to leave with the course bus on Tuesday at 4pm from the 'bus terminal' found in Terminal-4 (T4) in Madrid's airport. Please note that the 'bus terminal' is not the 'bus stop' next to the 'taxi stop' found at the same level, outside, where buses take you to the other terminals at the airport. To get to the 'Bus terminal' you must go up one level once you exit the luggage area of T4 and onto the main foyer of T4. Once you step into the foyer, go to your left in the direction of the 'consigna' (i.e., left luggage). Soon, you will find a set of elevators on the right-hand side that will let you go one level up. Once you have ascended, cross over the foot bridge onto the building opposite the foyer where you will find a long corridor to the right (you will start seeing 'bus terminal' signs there). At the end of the long corridor, you will descend to ground level, where the 'bus terminal' is.

The route from Madrid to the Center is a comfortable dual carriage way. The bus is air conditioned, it has Wi-Fi and phone chargers, and is large enough for most attendees to take 2 seats. There are no toilets in the bus and the trip takes approximately 4 hours, including a 30-minute rest stop.
The bus returns on the morning of Saturday at 8:30am after an early breakfast at the Center with the aim to arrive at T4 of Madrid’s airport around 1:30pm.

Attendees must ensure their flights adapt to the transport schedule. Flights must allow enough time for the attendees to pick up their luggage, pass passport control when necessary and walk or take internal airport transport to the bus area of T4. Most Iberia flights, except those arriving from the UK, will land at T4. Flights from the UK usually arrive at the T4-satellite terminal (ST4), which is connected by a rapid underground train to T4. Gates in T4 start with the letters "H", "J" or K', while Gates in ST4 start with the letters 'M' or 'S'. Some flights will arrive in the terminal areas T1-T3. These are connected by an internal bus service that runs between all 5 terminals every 15 to up to every 40 minutes. For more information on transport inside Madrid airport visit: https://www.madrid-airport.info/terminals.html). Attendees staying in Madrid that need information on getting to the airport from Madrid city center may visit: https://www.madrid-airport.info/metro.html for more information.

Attendees must allow enough time for possible traffic, baggage drop-off times, and airport controls on both legs of the journey. Attendees that wish to rent a car and travel to the area earlier and/or leave later may do so. Cars are allowed to drive faster than tour buses and it is typically 2h and 45 minutes each way, and there are historical sites of interest en route and not far from Cáceres. There is not discount in the course fee for attendees that choose to travel by car.
